Years ago I did a whole series of these old-timey burglars hightailing it up birch trees with their stolen loot - there was a different whimsical, absurd object in each painting. Recently I had the urge to revisit these guys, so here's one from my new (2023) batch.
 
Here we've got the burglars at their most intellectual: cavorting amongst books! I enjoy the meta-ness of this one -- you know, paper, trees...you get it. :)
